Nicolas Catena is the reason we know Argentine wines today. An economist by trade he travelled the globe and was introduced to the great wines of the world. It was during his travels that he dreamed that Argentina could one day produce wines of this quality. Most believe he suceeded. Today the winery is run by his daughter, Laura. The high mountain vine series is a blend of three vineyards all over 3000 feet above sea level. High altitude wines tend to be softer with raised acidity levels. Blueberry and other dark berry fruit come to the front with a little coffee on the finish. A very nice wine from one of the best wineries in the world.
