Philippe de Benoist and his wife first planted the vineyards for Domaine Nozay in 1971. At the heart of the Domaine lies a small 17th centrury castle, Le Nozay. The first harvest was in 1974. The vineyards were certified Organic in 2011 and Biodynamic in 2017. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and clay amphora with only indigenous yeast. A good mix of citrus fruits, pear, and melon. The touch of limestone that makes Sancerre so sought after is present as well.
