Muri-Gries is a working monastery in the Italian town of Bolzano. Santa Maddalena is a town and appelation in the Alto Adige region of Italy. The wine is mainly Schiava with a touch of Lagrein. Schiava is light bodied and best compares to a Pinot Noir. The wine itself is light and clean with mainly red berry fruit flavors. This wine truly deserves to be better known.
