There are only around 1500 acres of Gewurtztraminer planted in California, so it is not the first place you go to find one. With that being said this is a very good Gewurtz. It sees a little skin contact during fermentation which gives it its pinkish hue. The skins also add some more aromatics and flavor. The crazy aromatics are present with clementine and tropical fruit aromas surrounded by floral and maybe a touch of ginger. Tropical fruit flavors persist on the palete. The wine has good acidity and a very light sweetness. It would be wonderful with Indian, Middle Eastern or Asian cuisine.
